A Registered Dietitian, or RD, is an individual who has been extensively trained and certified as an expert in dietetics, food, nutrition and related areas. They provide education on proper nutrition and supervise diet programs and food preparation operations.


“Dietitian” is a legally protected title to be distinguished from a nutritionist. The term “registered dietitian” is regulated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association) and The Commission on Dietetic Registration. In order to be considered a registered dietitian one must meet certain academic criteria as well as other professional requirements.

Karen Beerbower

Karen Beerbower, MS, RD, LD, CEDRD (Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian), is a licensed, registered dietitian with a Master’s degree in Medical Science and a nutritional pediatric fellowship from Indiana University School of Medicine. As the president of Nutritional Guidance, Inc., she has worked in private practice for over 20 years. She is the Clinical Director of Blue Horizons Eating Disorder Services, LLC. She is the author of Setting Places and has provided nutritional expertise through articles, radio, television and public speaking. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida and the University of Evansville. Karen is a board member of the Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida and a member of the American Dietetic Association, Orlando Dietetic Association, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, National Eating Disorder Association, Academy for Eating Disorders, National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, Sports Cardiovascular & Wellness Nutritionists and Nutrition Entrepreneurs.

Candace Chemtob, MS, RD, LD, CSSD is a licensed, registered dietitian with a Master's degree in Human Nutrition from McGill University. Her extensive background includes more than 20 years of working in some of the nations’ premier medical centers including University of Chicago, Harvard/Massachusetts General and Washington University/Barnes Hospitals. She has worked with children at a specialized pediatric hospital in California and in private practice. She is board certified in weight management and sports nutrition by the American Dietetic Association. Candace is a Board Member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a charter member of the Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida, and a member of the American Dietetic Association, American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and Sports Cardiovascular & Wellness Nutritionists.

Candace provides metabolic testing services for Nutritional Guidance, Inc.

Meghan Moran, MS, RD, LD, is a licensed, registered dietitian with a Master’s degree in Health and Nutrition from the University of North Florida, College of Health. In addition to working in private practice, Meghan is the Nutrition Coordinator at Blue Horizon Eating Disorder Treatment Services, LLC. and past Clinical Dietitian at The Palms Eating Disorder Center at Central Florida Behavioral Hospital. Her extensive clinical background includes oncology, renal, cardiovascular and critical care units at Flagler Hospital and Florida Hospital South. Meghan is a Board Member of the Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida, a member of the American Dietetic Association, Orlando Dietetic Association, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group, and Sports Cardiovascular &Wellness Nutritionists.

Holly Pudwill, MS, RD, LD/N, is a licensed, registered dietitian with a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from Florida State University. Past work experience includes Consultant Dietitian in the Orlando area and Clinical Dietitian at Florida Hospital Waterman. Through these experiences Holly has worked in specialized areas such as bariatrics, oncology, pediatrics, and critical care with patients of all ages. In addition to seeing clients individually, Holly facilitates nutrition groups and meal experiences at Blue Horizon Eating Disorder Services, LLC.

Betsy Hirschy, RD, LD, is a registered, licensed dietitian with a dietetics degree from Lipscomb University and accreditation from the University of Virginia. In addition to her strong clinical nutrition background from working as a Clinical Dietitian at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga, Betsy also has experience in the research of body image and the prevention of eating disorders. As a Clinical Dietitian for Blue Horizon Eating Services, LLC, Betsy facilitates nutrition groups and meal experiences.
